Cuvees’ Wine Promotion at Eddie McDougall’s The Flying Winemaker

We’re very excited to be working with Eddie McDougall at the Flying Winemaker to promote 2 labels of our flagship labels on their window display this month (May 2012). The retail store is only about 6 months young and already garnered a strong and loyal following, thanks of course to Eddie’s casual and informative wine classes (called “WineSkool” and specifically theme “Masterclasses” for those a little more versed in wine). Eddie’s vision for his wine retail shop is very consistent with ours at Cuvees – to make wine consumption fun and enjoyable. Other similarities we share is that we started … Click For More

Cuvees Wine & Chocolate Pairing at Queen’s Garden

A big thank you to Clara and Billy for inviting us to take part in the wine and chocolate pairing and tasting event at Queen’s Garden! Similar to the Christmas part held at the same venue, Cuvees was asked to take part in a quarterly wine tasting event at the residential clubhouse. This time, however, we partnered with Derek at Beljoie who prepared some amazing (and fresh) chocolate straight from their production facility. On our end, we brought over 3 wines: – [Champagne] Andre Clouet Silver Brut NV – [White Wine] Blackbilly Chardonnay 2007 – [Red Wine] Hentley Farm Shiraz … Click For More

Doppio Zero Staff Training by Cuvees

To all trade customers: One of the benefits working with us, other than being able to choose from our *ahem* award winning portfolio, is that we work closely with your staff by introducing them not only to our wines specifically, but also the specific wine regions, grape varietal any everything they need to know to make a positive impression on your customers. In the photo below, we’re training the staff at Doppio Zero to the Italian wines that they’ve chosen from us to place on their wine list. We’ve done the same at Hotel ICON when our friend and supplier, … Click For More

Cuvees Rated One of Hong Kong’s Best by Cru Magazine!

Congratulations to Cru Magazine on their 1-year anniversary! Having submitted our wines to Cru Magazine on several occasion for their monthly panel tastings, and having of course, received very favourable results for our wines, we were asking to take part in their celebration along with 15 or so other local wine distributors. Mr. Jon Osborne (formerly from Winebuzz), the Account Manager for Cru Magazine managed to put together a thoroughly impressive guests lists with a ton of trade and retail customers dropping by. I personally felt we received more positive and serious attention that we did with the HKIWSF in … Click For More

Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition

This blog entry comes a little late, especially since the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition results were announced in early November … but better late than never! For the 2011 competition, 3 of the labels (totaling 5 wines) that we carry exclusively in Hong Kong entered the tasting. We were a little disappointed with the results since our Allinda Cabernet was the only label receiving the Silver recognition, while surprisingly, our Blackbilly and Hentley Farm wines all received Bronze medals. I should probably add that our Blackbilly GSM was awarded the Gold and Champion accolade at … Click For More

Sticky Rice Cake Wine Pairing for Chinese New Year

Ever wonder what wine would go well with Sticky Rice Cake (年糕) , a traditional festive snack, for Chinese New Year? The base for the rice cake is made with glutinous rice flour (mochi flour) and brown sugar, but there are also a number of creative variations such as adding red bean (红豆) and / or coconut milk to the mix before steaming it. When ready to serve, it is also customary to cut the cake into bite-sized pieces and fry them until they’re a little crusty and caramelized on the outside, and is often fried with egg batter. Anyway, the … Click For More

What We’ve Hosted and Contributed This Year!

We just want to say a big thank you to all of you who’ve supported us so far. 2011 has been a heck of a ride and as we enter the festive season, this is important to look back at what we’ve done to set a higher bar for ourselves in 2012. Charity plays a big part on who we are from day 1 and we’ll continue to contribute to worthwhile causes where we can (stay tuned for what I have personally planned for in 2012!). Anyway, here’s we’ve hosted and contributed in the last 12 months: Updated: December 3rd, 2011 … Click For More
